U.S. Chamber of Commerce: Rep. Diana Harshbarger a Leader on Tax Reform, Fighting for Local Businesses

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce released the following statement thanking U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger (TN-01) for her leadership and commitment to supporting American businesses through pro-growth tax reforms.
Rep. Harshbarger is working to ensure American businesses and workers won’t face the largest automatic tax increase in American history at the end of this year, when many provisions of President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) are set to expire.
“The U.S. Chamber of Commerce thanks Rep. Harshbarger for being a leader and fighting for small businesses,” said Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “In Rep. Harshbarger’s district, 39,530 small and pass-through businesses will see an increase of approximately $41,197,200 in their qualified business income deduction through passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This means that these local businesses would pay less in federal taxes and have more money—and certainty—to reinvest in their workforce and grow their business. We urge the House to swiftly pass this legislation and deliver permanent tax relief to businesses and workers across the country.”
