Internships

Internship Program
My staff and I are proud to offer students and recent graduates the opportunity to participate in our Congressional Internship Program, providing an interactive, hands-on learning experience in government, legislative processes, and constituent services. While many assume that congressional internships take place only in Washington, D.C., we want to highlight that we are actively seeking interns for our district offices in Kingsport and Morristown, right here in East Tennessee.
- Kingsport Office:
205 Revere Street Kingsport, TN 37660
- Morristown Office:
1501 E. Morris Blvd. Suite 12 Morristown, TN 37813
Internships are available on a rotating basis throughout the year. We offer flexible part-time and full-time opportunities with rolling start and completion dates to accommodate student schedules. Our program is perfect for recent high school graduates, college students, or those participating in graduate studies, and we strongly encourage applicants from Tennessee's First Congressional District or those with Tennessee state ties to apply.
In addition to internships, we also offer apprenticeships that serve as an entry point for those not currently enrolled in school but interested in pursuing a career in government service. Ideal candidates for apprenticeships are high school graduates or those who have earned a GED.
Whether you’re considering a local internship in Kingsport, Morristown, or an opportunity in Washington, D.C., all interested students are encouraged to apply.
To apply, please complete the application form below, ensuring you fill out all sections and upload your cover letter and resume. Note: The form contains 9 pages, so be sure to scroll through each section.
