ICYMI: Harshbarger Joins Freedom Caucus Colleagues in Demanding Senate Action on SAVE America Act
Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) today joined members of the House Freedom Caucus at a press conference to demand the Senate pass the SAVE America Act, legislation that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. Harshbarger urged Senate Republicans to follow the House's lead and stop blocking a bill supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans.

Check out her remarks below as prepared for delivery:
The integrity of American elections is on the line—and the Senate is doing nothing about it. Nothing.
They left for a two-week recess because it’s too hard.
Right now, legal American citizens do not control their own destiny.
We all know where this road leads. We saw it happen two days ago in New York.
Radical, far-left, anti-American socialists are taking over the Democrat Party.
If we don’t secure our elections, that is the direction the whole country will take.
The SAVE America Act is supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans.
There is nothing controversial about election integrity.
The fact that we are even having this debate is beyond comprehension.
Democrats don’t want election integrity because it will help them politically.
It’s incumbent upon us as Republicans to do the right thing for the sake of America’s future.
I want to speak directly to every Senator blocking the SAVE America Act:
I don't care about your political future. You took an oath for the American people—not for yourself.
Legal American citizens are losing control of their own country, and you are letting it happen.
So grow a spine, do what the House has already done, and what the American people expect from us.
And pass the SAVE America Act.
