Biden requested the emergency supplemental aid from Congress on Nov. 18 to help victims of natural disasters, primarily Hurricanes Helene and Milton, but also other emergencies.

Tennessee U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger (R-TN-01) has been on the ground meeting with East Tennessee residents impacted by Hurricane Helene and working to gather and distribute supplies to those in need in the aftermath of the storm.

Harshbarger, whose district stretches from the far northeastern point of the state down to the Gatlinburg area, and her staff have deployed to multiple counties impacted by the hurricane since flood waters devastated areas to assess each community’s needs and help distribute supplies.

BRISTOL, Tenn. — Gov. Bill Lee toured the Northeast Tennessee Disaster Relief Center at Bristol Motor Speedway on Monday alongside Sen. Marsha Blackburn and Rep. Diana Harshbarger.

The speedway's South Building is where the relief center is based. It is full of supplies for those affected by the flooding event caused by Hurricane Helene.

Local officials, the military and numerous volunteers are working around the clock to distribute the supplies to those in need.

Washington, D.C. - Monday, September 23, The United States House of Representatives passed Congresswoman Harshbarger's H.R. 5526, The Seniors’ Access to Critical Medications Act of 2024 which ensures that medicare seniors have access to the critical medications they need. This legislation restores pandemic-era flexibilities issued by the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that allowed mail delivery of prescribed drugs to Medicare beneficiaries.
