ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — Rep. Diana Harshbarger visited the Unicoi County Public Library to donate books from the Library of Congress.
The Unicoi County library lost more than 2,700 books in January due to water damage.
But on Thursday, the library received hundreds of new books thanks to a Library of Congress program that gives books to local libraries.
Library officials were excited about the new books.
Yesterday, U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger (TN-01) visited the Unicoi County Public Library (UCPL) to deliver books in partnership with the Library of Congress' Surplus Books Program following a tragic flood at the library earlier this year, resulting in thousands of books being damaged.

U.S. Rep. Diana Harshbarger will hold a town hall meeting, which is being billed as “Coffee with Your Congresswoman,” on Thursday, April 25.
The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the Unicoi County Courthouse.
The courthouse is located at 100 N. Main Ave., Erwin.

The planned “Coffee with your Congresswoman” event hosted by US Rep. Diana Harshbarger originally scheduled for Friday, April 19 at West End Baptist Church in Newport has been rescheduled to Monday, June 17.
The change, according to Harshbarger’s office, was necessitated due to newly scheduled votes for Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, in Washington, D.C. on foreign aid packages.
