More than 130 Vietnam veterans were honored Monday at Tusculum University in Greeneville with a pinning ceremony.
Rep. Diana Harshbarger hosted the event, and to date, has pinned over 3,000 veterans.
Harshbarger has held several of these events, and Monday's visit to Greeneville marks a stop in every county in our area.
Veterans in attendance say the event was an honor and it's one many didn't get when they returned from the war.

U.S. Rep. Diana Harshbarger honored more than 130 local Vietnam War veterans during a pinning ceremony held Monday afternoon at Annie Hogan Byrd Auditorium on the campus of Tusculum University.
“This means more to me than anything I will do in Congress. I’m continuing the tradition of my predecessor Phil Roe. These lapel pins are a token of gratitude from us for your service,” Harshbarger said.

U.S. Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger presented Vietnam War veterans with 50th Year Anniversary pins and certificates at the ceremonies. The pins commemorate the 50 years since the first National Vietnam Veterans Day, which is observed on March 29.

This bill requires Federal agencies to take into account naturally acquired immunity from previous COVID-19 infection when issuing any rules or regulations aimed at protecting from COVID-19.
Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger honored Hawkins County’s Vietnam veterans and their families during an event hosted Friday by the Rogersville American Legion Post 21. Harshbarger partnered with the U.S. Vietnam War Commemoration to find and honor Vietnam era veterans for their service. Vets received a lapel pin and congressional commendation certificate in recognition of their service. A total of 67 Hawkins County Vietnam Vets registered for the recognition, of whom 52 either showed up in person, or a family member showed up in their place, to receive a pin and certificate.
